The Young Transportations Geotechnics Engineers (YTGE) network will be created in the framework of the 3rd International Conference on Transportation Geotechnics 2016 (3rd ICTG 2016), held in Guimarães, Portugal.

The main goal of this network will be to increase the attractiveness of transportations geotechnics for younger generations of geotechnical engineers (less than 35 years old), whilst contributing to strengthen the role of young engineers in society. The network will be responsible for organizing several initiatives for the young geotechnical community.

The 1st meeting of the Young Transportations Geotechnics Engineers (1st YTGE meeting), associated with the 3rd ICTG 2016, aims to provide an international forum for doctoral and post-doctoral students as well as research engineers and engineers involved in innovation in transportation geotechnics, to present and discuss their main research results and to identify future research and engineering practice needs.

This forum will be organized by students and for students hosted by the University of Minho. It will cover all the disciplines in transportation geotechnics (roads, highways, bridges, airports, railways, waterways, canals and terminals- harbors).

The 1st YTGE meeting intends to create a knowledge exchange network and compile what the best and most advanced practices worldwide in the transportation geotechnics field are, either in academic or in industrial domains.

Thus, we are pleased to invite you to be part of the YTGE network and present your relevant work related to all disciplines in transportation geotechnics as mentioned above, by submitting a two-page extended abstract and the respective presentation (please follow the guidelines below available). Even those who are not able to attend the 1st YTGE meeting are encouraged to be enrolled in this network. All submissions (extended abstract and presentation) will be compiled into a USB drive and made available for all YTGE members.
