3rd International Symposium on Railway Geotechnical Engineering (GEORAIL 2017)

The 3rd International Symposium on Railway Geotechnical Engineering (GEORAIL 2017) will take place on the 23rd and 24th November 2017, in Marne-La-Vallée, France.

The topics of the symposium all relate to the geotechnical aspects of the construction, maintenance and management of railways and other guided transport infrastructures, including the interaction of the rolling loads with the railway structures.

The symposium will preferentially cover the following subjects:

- design of new railway lines, tram and metro, and restoration of existing lines,

- mechanical behaviour of platforms and superstructure of the railway, transition areas,

- diagnosis, characterization and pathology of the existing lines,

- natural hazards and evolutions of the environment,

- preventive and curative maintenance, rehabilitation, particularly in dense zone,

- insertion in landscape and cities (pollution, water, vibrations, landscape),

- railways in tunnels,

in terms of studies, research and examples of projects and works.

Engineers and researchers from all countries are invited to this symposium, to share their knowledge and experience in the field of railway geotechnical engineering.
